2, large Eating Apples
160g Wholemeal Flour Or a mix of wholemeal and white
40g Unsalted Butter
2 Eggs
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
2 tsps Maple Syrup Optional

It’s best for babies to have predominantly white flour/bread/pasta, but offering a little wholemeal now and then may help them to develop a taste for it. These muffins are a delicious way to introduce wholemeal. Recipe makes 6-8 muffins.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).

Whisk the eggs and butter together.

Grate in the apples.

Sift in the flour and baking powder.

Stir in the maple syrup (if using) and cinnamon.

Pour into muffin cases and bake for 20-25 minutes, until a skewer comes out clean.
