One Pot Tuna Pasta
A budget-cooking staple that minimises washing up – sounds good! This is excellent as pasta salad the next day if you have any leftover.
Steak with Cucumber Chimichurri
YES you can give your baby steak! Choose super high-quality, thin steak and cook it well (and by that I don’t mean cook it ‘to death’!). Steak Chimichurri is one of my favourite dishes, but in its original form would be too salty and spicy for a baby. This version is refreshing and bursting with […]
Hearty Lentil Ragu
A meat-free pasta sauce packed with flavour and goodness. The sauce clings really nicely to the pasta, making it perfect for BLW.
Butternut and Haddock Nuggets
Reassuringly orange, these ‘nuggets’ are the perfect fish finger alternative. Enjoy them with some homemade ketchup or a yogurt and cucumber dip.
Lime Chicken With Peppers
Marinading chicken is a great way to keep it soft and juicy for babies, as it can easily become dry. Serve this simple, zesty dish with avocado and sweet potato or rice and sprinkle some sea salt and chilli flakes on yours!
Vegan Spinach Pesto
This dairy free pesto is conveniently lower in salt than normal pesto too, so a good choice for all babies. Stir through pasta or vegetables, add to soups, use as a sauce for white fish and meats…. lots of possibilities!
Vegan Broccoli Scones
This is my egg and dairy-free alternative to my Broccoli Pesto Muffins. These are delicious on their own, spread with butter-alternative or crumbled on top of soup for older ones. The recipe makes around 6 little scones so double if you want to make some to freeze (I like cooking in small batches!).
Butterbean and Mint Spread
A fresh and creamy spread, delicious on bread, toast or rice cakes. This takes minutes to prepare and can easily be made dairy free by using coconut yogurt. Add more yogurt to turn this into a dip.
No-Cook Pasta Sauce
I always keep leftover pasta, but don’t always have the time to cook a sauce for it. Rather than serving plain pasta, try blitzing up this fresh medly to stir in.
Spicy Spinach and Potato Balls
These are based on my favourite Indian side dish – Sag Aloo. You could serve for lunch with yogurt and a squeeze of fresh lime or cook alongside a curry as a less-messy alternative to rice.
