Everyone loves a big hot bowl of homemade soup on a cold day. But hand a six month old a bowl of soup and a spoon and you might not find the clean up quite as soul-soothing. This recipe makes the goodness of soup accessible to babies who aren’t yet ready to self-feed using a spoon. All the nourishment, all the warmth, none of the mess! Try it with your favourite soup recipe or use one of mine.

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Make your soup and blend.

Cut a slice of bread into squares (eighths is a good size).

Dip into the soup, letting the bread soak up the liquid, then place each piece in an ovenproof dish.

Bake for 15 minutes. Season with a little black pepper if you wish. Done. Easy!
